1 Bowl
1 High Speed Blender
- 3/4 Cup Yellow Mustard Seed
- 3/4 Cup Water
- 1/4 Cup Vinegar (apple cider vinegar or white vinegar)
- 1½ Tsp Tumeric
- 1½ Tsp Honey
- 1/2 Cup Water or Vinegar For Processing
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir, and cover. Let sit on the counter for 3 to 5 days. As the seeds absorb the liquid, you can add more water. Ensure seeds stay covered with liquid at all times.
Place in high-speed blender and blend until smooth, adding the 1/2 cup of water or vinegar (your choice depedning on your preferred flavor) to help create a very smooth texture.
If you like a spicy mustard, you can consume right away. If you prefer a more mellow mustard, allow to sit in the fridge for a few days before consuming.
- This makes for a very spicy mustard, right out the gate. Don't worry, it will mellow out after a few days in the fridge and then taste more like prepared mustard.
- The vinegar in this recipe acts as a preservative and allows this to remain fresh for up to 6 months in the fridge.
